Brandywiners Chorale
We are a nonprofessional mixed chorus of about 60 singers. However, our Director and Accompanist are professionals. We have been performing for 25 years. We present 6-8 paid concerts each spring and fall, primarily at retirement communities. We also present a free concert for friends and family at the end of each season at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wilmington, DE. Included in all our programs is a medley of songs from the show that will be performed by The Brandywiners. Ltd. organization at Longwood Gardens each summer.

Rehearsal/Audition Dates:  Rehearsals are at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington DE 19803, every Tuesday evening form 7:30-8:30 pm. They will begin this fall on September 3rd. Auditions will be held at 7pm on September 3rd.

Audition Requirements: For the audition, please bring a musical piece to be sung with piano accompaniment. You will also be given a song to site read.

Cathedral Choir School of Delaware
The Cathedral Choir School of Delaware is a unique after-school program that combines professional choral training, piano and voice lessons, leadership development, academic tutoring, and one-on-one mentoring. Cathedral Choir School students sing as members of the Cathedral Choir where they perform alongside a semi-professional group of adult singers. Choristers in elementary through high school come to the Choir School Mondays through Thursdays 3:00-6:00 p.m. to complete homework, practice the piano and spend supervised time in our safe and nurturing environment. This after-school program is in residence at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Cathedral Choir School is a winner of the prestigious "Coming Up Taller" Award, our nation's highest honor for after-school youth arts programs.

Audition Dates: Rolling Audition for Adults and Children
Audition Requirements: An interview and "Hearing" with the Artistic Director. The "Hearing" includes basic vocalization and assess tonal memory and pitch matching.

Center City Chorale
Center City Chorale, a 30-40 voice community choir designed for, but not limited to, those who work in downtown Wilmington, has opening for singers in all voice parts. The ensemble rehearses on Tuesdays during the noon hour and performs primarily during Thursday Noontime Concerts sponsored by Market Street Music. Rehearsals begin September 10, 2013 at First & Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Wilmington for the 2013-2014 season. Repertoire consists primarily of standard classical choral music, with significant amounts of contemporary music and some jazz. This all-volunteer ensemble requires no audition, but does require a love of choral singing and a commitment to attend rehearsals and performances. Delaware Choral Society
The Delaware Choral Society (DCS) is a community choir of non-auditioned singers that provides two concerts per year (fall and spring) to Dover area audiences. We perform the music of great choral composers and arrangers from the Renaissance to the present day. We meet Tuesday evenings at Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover, Delaware. Dues for DCS are $30 per concert season. DCS also maintains a smaller auditioned choir known as the Chamber Singers, made up of DCS singing members.

Audition Dates: Registration / meet & greet night for DCS is Tuesday, September 10th at 6pm. No auditions are required for the main choir.
Auditions for the Chamber Singers will begin after registration/meet & greet (probably around 8:30pm).
Audition Requirements: Chamber Singers candidates must be a paid member of the DCS and plan to sing with the large group in December. Dues may be paid at registration. There are no other audition requirements. Music will be chosen by the director.

Delaware Valley Chorale
The Delaware Valley Chorale, Wilmington's symphonic choral ensemble announces auditions for experienced adult singers (ages 18 and above) for the 2013-2014 concert season.  Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings beginning September 9. Repertoire will include works by Mozart, Brahms and Mendelssohn as well as new works by Avin Trotman and Joshua Fishbein.  Candidates are encouraged to prepare a solo or passage from a choral work that demonstrates vocal quality, range and flexibility, and will be asked to demonstrate basic music reading ability.  Auditions are held by appointment on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday,  September 8 at The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew (719 N. Shipley St., Wilmington, Delaware 19801) and may be scheduled by contacting Lisa Nichols at 302-740-2410.  Auditions may be schedule at other times as well by appointment.  An accompanist is provided.

HildaMan Chorale
The HildaMan Chorale is a talented, community based, volunteer vocal ensemble under the direction of Sheila M. Cassidy. The members share a love of music and the joy of performing. The chorale’s vision is to sing and preserve the Negro Spiritual, and offer an opportunity for performance by local artists. In addition to the Negro Spiritual, their repertoire includes jazz, gospel, and show tunes.

Audition Place/Time: Christina Cultural Arts Center, 7 pm.
Audition Requirements: Select a Negro Spiritual to sing a cappella.

Opus One Vocal Arts
Opus One Vocal Arts is seeking Tenors and Basses for its 2013-2014 Season. A chamber ensemble of 18-24 voices, we perform a wide variety of repertoire spanning many centuries and many styles. This season's theme revolves around music from many lands and cultures and features Kirke Mechem's "Seven Joys of Christmas" for choir and harp in the fall. Potential new members should be free to rehearse on Sunday evenings in Wilmington, DE.

The Music School of Delaware: Delaware Women's Chorus
For adult women 18 years and older. Dedicated to choral excellence, this ensemble, led by Joanne Ward, provides an artistic and nurturing experience for women who love to sing and have some choral background. The Music School of Delaware: Delaware Children's Chorus
For children in Grades 2 through 8. This premier children's choir, led by Marybeth Miller, is for students with some choral or musical experience (unchanged treble voices). It uses diverse repertoire to teach musicianship, with an emphasis on sight-singing, ear-training and two and three-part singing. Rehearsals Wednesdays, 5:00-6:30pm at the Wilmington location.

For youth in Grades 9 through 12. The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware
The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware is a non-profit Delaware community chorus that provides members of the lesbian, gay male, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community and their straight friends and allies with opportunities to perform choral music in a supportive and affirming environment. The St. Cecilia Choir for Girls
Professional Singing Opportunity for Girls ages 12 and older.  Affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music, the St. Cecilia Choir for Girls has a limited number of stipend-based positions available for advanced girl singers age 12 through young adult in downtown Wilmington, Delaware.  Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and the choir performs approximately 1-2 times per month on Sunday mornings at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew.  The ensemble is an Episcopal liturgical choir with high musical standards that incorporates musicianship training and vocal coaching.  Membership is open to all faith traditions and backgrounds and singers do not need to be members of the church.  Membership is open now through the month of September.  To schedule an interview, please contact David Christopher, Director of Music at 302-656-6628 or at OrganImprov@aol.com.  The ensemble is part of the music program at The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, 719 N. University of Delaware Community Music School Choirs (Grades 1-12)
The University of Delaware Community Music School offers dynamic choral programs for singers in first through twelfth grades.   Our choirs can be performance-based extensions of the music education offered in schools or an outlet for those who just can’t seem to sing enough.  New potential singers will be auditioned to evaluate pitch matching and both rhythmic and melodic reading abilities.

Wilmington Children's Chorus (Ages 8-18)
The Wilmington Children's Chorus is known for excellence in vocal and musicianship training and involves over 140 singers ages 8-18 in 5 different ensembles from beginning to advanced.  WCC welcomes youth from all walks of life and creates a community out of their mutual love of music and singing.  WCC regularly collaborates with the area's top arts organizations including the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, OperaDelaware, First State Ballet Theatre and The Grand Opera House.  They perform throughout the region and engage in international exchanges with young musicians from Wilmington's Sister Cities.  WCC provides this valuable education with NO tuition or membership fee.
